In-Person Events Policy

This policy outlines the rules and guidelines for participation in Accused.Me.UK in-person events, including our “Coffee and Chat” gatherings and larger conferences. These guidelines ensure that all attendees feel safe, respected, and supported during these events.

1. Understanding the Event Rules

Participants are expected to familiarise themselves with this policy before attending any in-person event. Our guidelines aim to maintain a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for everyone.

2. Purpose of the Events

Our in-person events are designed to provide support, guidance, and community for those navigating false allegations. These events are strictly focused on offering support and not on activism or political campaigning.

3. Confidentiality

Respect for confidentiality is paramount. Do not share personal stories, discussions, or information shared during the events outside the group. Maintaining discretion ensures a safe environment for all attendees.

4. Zero Tolerance for Abuse

Abuse, discrimination, or hate speech of any kind is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, racism, misogyny, misandry, anti-Semitism, homophobia, and attacks based on religion or disability. Any behaviour deemed abusive will result in immediate removal from the event.

5. Age Restrictions

The minimum attendance age is 16. We may consider, depending on the circumstances and the assessed benefits of attendance, an under-16 attending with a parent or guardian. The parent or guardian must contact us first in order to discuss if it is appropriate and seek permission for the minor to attend with them.

6. Event Locations

“Coffee and Chat” events are held in public settings. Conferences are typically conducted in privately booked venues. For all events, only the general location (e.g., town or city name) will be published in our groups and forums. Full details, including the venue name and address, will be shared privately with confirmed attendees 1-2 weeks before the event.

7. Politics or Activism

As with our online support networks, our in-person events are not platforms for political discussions or activism. While systemic change is important, these events need to focus on providing the immediate personal support attendees seek.

8. Recording and Photography

Recording or taking photos during events is not allowed unless explicit permission has been granted by all attendees involved. This ensures everyone’s privacy and comfort. If for any reason you may need or want to take photos or videos then please contact us. Accused.Me.UK may wish to take photo for promotional reasons. Generally this would only be at conference. Capturing faces would be avoided and any faces captured would be blurred. However, if such a photo was planned it would be discussed and notified first.

9. Legal Advice

With the exception of any visiting/guest legal professional our events do not offer formal legal advice. Any advice shared is informal and should not be relied upon. Always consult a qualified solicitor with full access to your case files for legal matters.

10. Adding Friends On Facebooks

Unless an event host explicitly invites you to add him/her as a friend on Facebook you should not do so. Each event location has an accessible chat where you can communicate with the host. If you need a private conversation please contact us. This is to protect privacy.

Thank you for your cooperation in making our in-person events a safe and supportive space for all attendees. If you have any questions about these guidelines, please contact us before attending an event.
